According to the Universal Declaration of Huma Rights adopted by United Nations General Assembly in 1948, quoted that “everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for their health and well-being, including food”.
Food insecurity or the lack of access to enough nutritious food, can have serious consequences of people’s health and well-being. It can lead to malnutrition, chronic condition such as heart disease and diabetes, depression, anxiety and stress. It can also cause social isolation, stigma and shame, and slow progress in another area of human development such as education and employment.
